Sannesund Bridge was opened in 1978. It leads the traffic on the E6 past Sarpsborg. Under the bridge is a narrow pedestrian bridge over Glomma. A new bridge has been built parallel to the old one, opened May 2008. The old bridge was closed after that for renovation. It will opened again in November 2008. This will create a four lane motorway.
